Located in heart of Grand Teton National Park,
String Lake is a natural lake with crystal clear glacial waters. String Lake is
an outflow from Leigh Lake to the north and flows into Jenny Lake to the
south. This image features the String
Lake Bridge with Rockchuck Peak, Mt. St. John and Symmetry Spire in background.
A smokey year in Grand Teton National Park due to wildfires locally as well as nationally created some challenging photographic conditions in the summer of 2012. As the fires died down in early fall, the remaining smoke in the air enhanced the sunlights last rays as it set in nearby Cascade Canyon.
