Through digital photography, Drew M Wright brings the outdoors home. With foundations in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Woodinville, Washington, Drew spent
many years exploring the great outdoors. With a natural eye for design, a passion for the outdoors and a background in IT industry, Drew combined his
knowledge and expertise and transitioned it into the world of digital SLR photography. Drew is rapidly becoming an recognized outdoor photographer with images
in publication on postcards, greeting cards and magazines and is excited to share his experience with others during upcoming photography Workshops in the summer
of 2010.
Artist Statement 
Few experiences can truly compare to being surrounded by the sights and sounds of the ever changing wilderness environment.
A rushing mountain stream; gentle breeze through a grove of aspen trees; the mirror reflection of a
high mountain lake; faint sounds of wildlife in the distance and vibrant colors that light the horizon, create a lasting
impression and help us realize that we are just a small part of a larger force around us.
Many of the images seen here have involved driving thousands of miles; hiking alone in complete darkness,
working in sub-freezing temperatures, navigating through fog, driving rain and blinding snow, hiking
unmarked trails, wading through icy waters and exploring unknown territory, all the while carrying thirty or more
pounds of photography gear. More than just a passion of perseverance and planning, it is my ambition
to share these profound moments in time few will ever get to witness. For me, photography has become not just a medium to
capture the great outdoor, but a means to create images, which through an artistic vision, inspire and create a true sense of place.
Even in the fast paced world we live in, we are surrounded by wilderness. It is in the quiet moments which encompass the beginning and ending of each day.
It is in the mountains we may see in the distance or the trees which change with the seasons. It is in the rising clouds above us or the sunlight that warms our soul.
Each day nature reveals many wonders, but it is up to us, to pause for only a moment and appreciate the beauty which surrounds us.
